On Friday morning the Mentors met regarding CPrint® issues. Many of the issues discussed will be presented at the regular board meetings across the country during the next two months.
Friday evening at the Gala, sales, management awards and the Mentor of the Year award were given to top Mentors.

Keith Einstein - Mentor of the Year
Keith Einstein, Einstein Printing, Dallas, Texas, (above right) is presented his award by CPrint® President Todd Nuckols. Keith has endured many challenges over the last 12 months. Running a business has enough distractions of its own and keeping your attention focused where it needs to be can be tough. In the last year Keith has kept one child in college while helping the other begin her life after graduating. He has moved his business, and all the while, has increased his sales by 16%. For getting the job done, this year’s mentor of the year award goes to Keith Einstein.
Keith also received a sales award for his one year 16% sales increase.

Promenade Printing - Richardson, Texas
It was about 32 years ago that Tom McDowell got out of the Air Force and joined his wife Terry's Dad, printing at his Kwik Kopy.
Gofer It!: "Tell us why you're a printer, Tom."
Tom McDowell: "When I got out of the service in 1978 I decided I'd work for my father-in-law until I decided what I wanted to do when I grew up. I'm still trying to decide!"
Gofer: "And what about Promenade Printing?
Tom: "After the death of Terry's Dad, she and I bought the business from her Mom in 1986. Terry runs production and I'm general manager and sales manager. We have one full time worker and two part timers.
Gofer: "As sales manager, how many sales phone calls did you make this week?"
Tom: "I didn't make any. But don't print that!"

Mistakes Drive Me Nuts!!!!! I just can't handle them!
|
Opinion by Tom Crouser
In one of our Chicago training sessions last week, a business owner asked, "Do you have any incentives that could be used for production?" Well, yes we do.
(BTW this is a combination of a couple events similar in nature that we ran into last week so this doesn't follow either one exactly, but you will get the point)
I asked, "What are you trying to achieve?" To boil it all down -> the owner said ERRORS drove him CRAZY. "I just go ballistic when they happen!"
|
|
|
He continued, "I call everyone in and we go over it to see what happened." I didn't get the sense that this was done in a spirit of quality improvement; rather it seemed to me like the boss was throwing a tantrum and everyone else was ducking and covering - sorta covering their assets if you know what I mean.
I was about ready to launch into some quality management tools that could be used - the very first one is having a supervisor (leader) and readily apparent chain of command so that job flow could be monitored and appropriate quality processes implemented.

CPrint® Mentors Gain Information
|
|
|
CPrint® President, Todd Nuckols, spent Friday morning at the Mentor Board meeting updating the mentors on CPrint® happenings and what he expects in the future for the organization.
Some of the items Todd spoke about were:
CPrint® growth. Five new affiliates in the last 45 days. Todd described the sales funnel used by the company and how CPrint® affiliates can do the same thing to grow their companies.
CPrint® affiliates that used the Xpedex quarterly special received on average, a check for $350.
Video Marketing was discussed and videos shown that CPrinters can have made of their shop at a rate far below the market price.
And . . . it was announced that the fall Mentor Meeting will be held in New Orleans. The first CPrint® meeting to be held in New Orleans since Katrina hit in 2005.

Could your customer service inspire someone to awe and amazement? Read on to find out how one CPrint® trained couple's business does just that.
There’s nothing beats starting the morning with some good news. For Jim and Nadine Mitchell of Mitchell Printing & Graphics in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina, the news could not have been better one morning in August.
A piece in the Mithchell's local paper, the Twin City News, made all the hard work seem worthwhile for the couple and their team. An anonymous columnist had devoted an entire piece to praising the couple, their staff and their business.
“The team at Mitchell Printing & Graphics, Inc. is truly amazing. I say this every time I go in and when I get ready to leave their office,” extolled the author.
