Jonathan Bond - Sales Person of the Year
CPrint® President, Todd Nuckols, left, presents Jonathan Bond the CPrint® Sales Person of the Year award.
Jonathan Bond, Bond Printing, Hanover, MA, was named CPrint® Sales Person of the Year at the Printing Without Print Summit in Nashville recently.
Jonathan returned to the family business a couple of years ago. There was no sales happening so it was decided to to let Jonathan have a go at it. He had no prior experience in sales, but was willing to work at it.
He immediately put the CPrint® model in place. He obtained a mail list of area businesses from headquarters and started calling. His objective was to identify the print buyer and to arrange an appointment. He developed a couple of letters he sends to print buyers.
Jonathan also developed a sales packet with his two sided "Bond" business card, a brochure about Bond Printing, a copy of Printips with an article about partnering with your printer and a letter or two of recommendations from current customers. He also puts other "goodies" in it like note pads, pens and Red Sox or Patriot magnet schedules. Ideally this packet is delivered in person, but mailed when he can't get an appointment. He also developed a couple of thank you fold over note cards that are sent after appointments. He also mails thank you cards after the first order from new customers.
At the same he became very active in a large, local Chamber of Commerce and rarely misses any of their meetings. Jonathan enjoys working the room and people definitely know him in the Chamber. He is usually one of the last to leave, staying behind to help the staff pickup when necessary. After the meeting he emails people he's met for the first time telling them he enjoyed meeting them and reminding them he's in the printing business.
Jonathan's work is paying off. The company's number one customer is a medical clinic that Jonathan brought on board.
General Manager Jon Bond said, "Any sales increase we have is a result of Jonathan's efforts. I'm proud of Jonathan, the job he's doing and his willingness to take on this challenge. Quite frankly, I hate to think where we'd be without his hard work."

CPrint Releases Training to the Industry
|
We are pleased to announce the availability of some of the extensive CPrint training material to the industry beginning with these automated programs by CPrint founder Tom Crouser: Understanding Financial Statements.
Understanding Financial Statements is a series of eight automated training programs specifically tailored to the printing industry which are down loadable and will operate from a PC computer (sorry PC only).
These are perfect for owners who want to understand financial statements but who don't want to be accountants. To add to the ease of understanding, sports analogies are used to illustrate many points such as the Income Statement being the instant replay and the Balance Sheet being the scoreboard at the end of the field.
|
|
|
Also included are unique automated graphics so a viewer can see how a Balance Sheet really works and the relationship between the Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flows.
The individual programs are: Basic Concepts, Attest Letter, Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, Statement of Retained Earnings And Footnotes, Depreciation And Inventory.
These eight programs which provide over two and one-half hours of training, complete with handouts and access to the instructor for questions, regularly sells for $195. However, as an introduction to the CPrint Training, these programs are being made available for a limited time only for $95. For a detailed brochure about the program, please go to:

Printing Without Print Sales Summit
"This is an unbelievable agenda, with a spectacular group of seminar leaders. I am excited just reading the topics that will be covered." A quote from one of the first people to see the agenda for the CPrint® Printing Without Print Sales Summit, scheduled for Nashville, June 16-19..
Tom Crouser has looked ahead for the last 25 years, giving CPrinters the heads up on having web sites, Gateways, QR Codes and other advances before our competition even knew what they were. Now Tom will be giving us his vision of the future of our industry in a time when there will be less need for duplicates (traditional printing). Not only that but he will discuss what he sees us doing to make a living ten to twenty years from now.
Almost a dozen different people, including Dave Fellman, John Giles, Tawnya Starr and Roger Buck, will tell us about sales, marketing and the future of print.
The Printing Without Print Sales Summit is open only to CPrint® affiliates. If you're interested in seeing what CPrint® can do for you, go to: www.cprint.org

CPrint® Network Helps in Job Hunt
Bruce Mars, then owner of Planet Printing in Davie, Florida, hired Marcus Brown, above, as his press operator. Bruce had been a part of CPrint® since 1996. Marcus did a super job and after a while Bruce was able to turn over the production manager duties to Marcus.
After seven years at Planet Printing Marcus decided to follow his girl friend across the country. From Florida to California. Bruce hated to see Marcus leave but supported him in his new endeavor.
Bruce kept in touch with Marcus even when he sold Planet Printing and then when he joined CPrint® as a consultant. He knew that Marcus hadn't found the printing job he wanted in southern California and was working for Hertz Rental Car.
A few months ago Bruce was talking to one of his accounts, an affiliate in southern California. The company had lost its press operator and needed one. As Bruce talked to the affiliate on his phone he sent a text message to Marcus. Yes, Marcus lived close to this shop. Yes, he was interested in the job. Before Bruce was off the phone he had set up an interview between the owner and Marcus.
And, yes, Marcus is now working at as a press operator in his new location because of his CPrint® connection. After 2,700 miles he was able to keep doing the kind of work he enjoys.
